Kali Tribe are a Devon based Tribal Bellydance Performance duo, teaching ATS in Devon. Sharon and Kay perform together as Kali Tribe and have performed at haflas, weddings, community events, festivals around Devon and Cornwall.

We have been bellydancing for a number of years, first starting with Egyptian bellydance and then were drawn to the grounded and earthiness of American Tribal Style Belly Dance (ATS).

This is the foundation of The Kali Tribes performances; which also include Tribal Fusion with Flamenco, Arabic, Indian and Asian influences, modern theatre and street dance.

WHAT IS AMERICAN TRIBAL STYLE?

(ATS) IS A MODERN STYLE OF DANCE CREATED BY FATCHANCEBELLYDANCE DIRECTOR, CAROLENA NERICCIO. BASED ON TRADITIONAL DANCES FROM INDIA, MIDDLE EAST, SPAIN, TURKEY AND MOROCCO; THIS FORMAT HAS MODIFIED TRADITIONAL DANCE STEPS AND PUT THEM INTO AN IMPROVISATIONAL GROUP CONTEXT TO CREATE A UNIQUE STYLE WITH BOTH A TRADITIONAL AND MODERN FLAVOUR.
